Introduction to Payton Hall
Hello, my name is Payton hall! I am currently a Junior here at OU and I am studying Accounting. People are sometimes shocked I have chosen public accounting as a career but I have a natural talent for it so I am excited to keep pursuing it. I have an internship already lined up in Dallas next year with Grant Thorton so I am very excited about that.
I am from Texas even though I was originally born in California. I have lived in Arlington ever since I was super young and grew up there. I have 2 sisters that I am close with, as well as my mom and dad. And best of all my labrador retriever, Max.
Some of my hobbies include binge-watching Netflix... some of my favorite shows past and present are Grey's Anatomy, This is Us, Riverdale, and Criminal Minds. I enjoy the girly romantic comedy shows like Friends and Gossip Girl but also love true crime and things like Law & Order SVU.
Another hobby of mine is my YouTube channel I recently started! My username is @paynicole... I do college vlogs about my life but also plan to do some makeup stuff as well. I have always loved watching YouTube ever since high school so I was excited to start my own channel doing something I love.
Over the break, I took a trip to Florida in order to go on a cruise with my extended family! We went to so many beautiful places like Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I actually vlogged my trip as my first YouTube video. We went on a ship with Royal Carribean that was super cool, it had a lot of special features like bungee trampolines, laser tag, surf rider, and some cool water slides. Another thing that was cool on the ship was the late-night pizza place. They served pizza all day up until 3am and it was so delicious!

ReplyDeleteEngineering and Accounting seem to be the major I found in this class a lot ha. I would definitely agree that binge watching Netflix is a problem for me as well. I went through The Witcher in not even a day now I have no idea what to watch! I agree with you that watching YouTube is the greatest thing ever! I hope your semester goes well that adult life treats you well when you graduate!
How great that you have a YouTube channel of your own, Payton! I use my channel just to share playlists and keep up with other YouTube channels; I've never done my own vlog like that. That is really cool! I watched your CRUISE VLOG. You can embed your videos in the sidebar of your blog if you want; one of my favorite things about YouTube is being able to embed videos anywhere: in webpages, blog posts, blog sidebars, and they even play in the blog sidebar, no matter how teeny-tiny they get. Maybe you will be inspired to include some video in your project for this class! Lots of people have embedded videos in their Storybooks or Portfolios... but I don't think anybody has actually filmed some video to use for class. That would be very cool indeed! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Payton! That's great that you have a natural talent for your major! From what I've seen from my friends people either understand accounting or they don't at all. It's awesome that you have a YouTube channel, too. I love YouTube and sometimes find myself watching videos more than I watch shows on Netflix. I'll definitely have to look at some of the vlogs on your channel!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to start off by saying what a cute doggie! My boyfriend and I have two of our own name Cooper and Gunner! I think it is amazing that you have a natural act for your future career that is something very hard to find! I like to think mine for public health comes naturally too but I am scared to say that incase it does not come naturally when I am out and about in the field. However, I have a great feeling about this career I am creating.
Hey Payton! I think it is great that you are going after something you have a knack for, and if you are excited about it then that is even better! Binge-watching Netflix is also a hobby of mine, haha. I mostly just watch Parks and Rec and The Office, though. Also, your dog is so adorable! Good luck in the course!

ReplyDeleteWe definitely have a love for binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy in common. It has SO. MANY. SEASONS.!! I honestly that I was going to get bored of the series, especially after some of my favorite characters died, but it has actually been eventful and even emotional (girl, I cry all the time watching it). I think that it’s really unique that you’ve started a college vlog! I will have to check it out! I don’t know how to do makeup at all… so I could definitely benefit from some tutorials!

I loved all your favorite shows that you listed, so it sounds like we have similar types of styles and interests.That is awesome you started your own YouTube channel. I love watching videos on this app, and I feel like it takes a lot of confidence and creativity to start your own blog.

ReplyDeleteI'm from the Best State too...glad you could make your way from California to Texas at a young enough age to call yourself a Texan! Your dog is really cute too, and I bet you must miss him whenever you have to leave for college. I love Riverdale! The new season definitely is pretty dark but it's too late - I'm hooked. Hope you have a good semester, and remember to enjoy it because the last year or so really flies!
Hello Payton! I am a junior as well. College is going by so fast but slow. Congrats on the internship!! That is so exciting! I love YouTube as well. I actually have a video that has like 2.5 million views but it is embarrassing because I made it in the 6th grade. I love going to Florida but I go for the theme parks. I love Disney. Have you ever gone?

Kudos to you for starting your own youtube channel, I know it can be really difficult sometimes to put yourself out there for other people. Also, your doggie, Max, looks absolutely adorable. I am always so excited to go home to visit my dogs every once in a while. Good luck with this semester and your channel!
Hi Payton! Accounting is a major I have not seen too much of in this class. I took an accounting class for my minor in entrepreneurship once, and I enjoyed it well enough. What goes into public accounting? It's really good that you have an internship lined up already - I always like to see fellow OU students killing it out in the real world!

I have two older sisters and I love them both a lot too. Also that cruise sounds super fun. I love pizza so all-day pizza would've killed my diet haha. ReplyDeleteSo we basically watch all the same shows on Netflix! I love Grey's Anatomy and Criminal Minds. Probably my 2 favorite shows. Your dog is so cute. My roommate just got one and he is so cute! Congratulations on your internship. That is awesome to already have something lined up because it looks really good for you and you will get a ton of experience I'm sure.
