Well, we are officially halfway through the semester, officially at the point where almost every student is at their breaking point. We haven't had time off since Christmas and we are just about to go crazy if we have to take another test. Unfortunately, spring break is the period where all the teachers try to get in important assignments and even worse, exams before we run off to party wherever we are going. So naturally, I have 2 projects and 3 exams next week... right before spring break. How lovely. While I am desperately sad about this turn of events, I cannot express my excitement enough to reach next Friday and be at the end of a disastrous week.  I still have lots of studying to do in the meantime but it is exciting to know in one short week I will be past my breaking point and onto a wonderful break from the lovely town of Norman. But to go more in detail about my upcoming week, it is important to focus on my assignments and test in order to get where I need to be grad...

Dragon I first went to this article because I saw a post on the class announcements/ twitter stream talking about Chinas Magical creatures. It was a joke how we always think dragons but that is not actually accurate. Harry Potter Next, I was led to Harry Potter because the dragon article discussed how they are sometimes found in western fantasy literature. The Goblet of Fire featuring the dragons was one of my favorites from the Harry Potter series. Universal Parks & Resorts Next, after the Harry Potter Wikipedia, Universal was discussed because there is a Wizarding Worl of Harry Potter attraction that has been built at many of the amusement parks. I have been to one of them in Florida so I thought that was cool. Los Angeles Lastly, I was led to Los Angeles from the Universal Wikipedia. The Universal article discussed how a Universal attraction was originally built outside of Los Angeles in Universal City. Which then led to the creation of Universal Studios Hollywoo...

I have struggled so much maintaining my schedule proposed at the beginning of the semester. It has been harder than I thought to commit 6 hours during the week, which is what I expected at the beginning. I have ended up doing more work on the weekends, which has helped. However, this week and continuing on, I am focusing on doing more work during the week and getting it done so I am not left with so much on the weekend. My eyes open instantly. Was that something I heard in the hallway... footsteps? Is this just a dream? I hear them again, but this time closer to my door. What will I do? Do I close my eyes and pretend to be asleep or prepare for what might come next. I look down the hall toward her door and hope my steps don't wake her up. I start to walk again. I reach her door. Authors Note: I wrote these stories with an idea of doing 2 sentence horror, but not exactly. I thought it was a cool idea and thought I would try it. I wrote the same story but from two different first-person points of view. I made the first one longer, 50 words in order to make it a dribble and something a bit more than just a 2 sentence story. 1. Overall, I am not thrilled with my performance so far. I have struggled a lot getting in a weekly habit and routine, which has led me to miss quite a few assignments and not take advantage of the extra credit every week. This week and last I have done a lot better and am getting better at getting a routine, but I still struggle because of my semester being harder than anticipated. I enjoy the reading and project assignments, as well as the storytelling. It is not that I don't do them because I don't like them, I just lose time.  2. Right now I am in the C range, but after this week and the extra credit, I can move up to a B. I am definitely going to do my best to not miss any assignments from now on to keep myself out of the whole I got in the first semester. Also, I want to do more extra credit opportunities. 1. Overall, the comments I have received have been helpful. I enjoy the comments that include criticism or suggestions to make my writing better. I think those comments help me improve on my writing more than other general suggestions and comments. 2. I think my comments are helpful and useful, I try to comment and make suggestions about the stories. I use the I wonder method a lot to write detailed feedback on the plot of the story. I also like using the Wow method to highlight parts of their story that I really like and enjoy. 3. I think the introduction blogs are fun to learn interesting things about people. I feel like each blog I read introducing someone is so different than any other I have read. However, I do not necessarily think the introduction blogs help really get to know someone because I find that I don't always return to them after reading so I do not always remember the different people. 4. Overall, I think I have struggled with the reading and understanding it as a whole but I like what I have done with my stories. Being able to creatively write has been very fun for me so I have enjoyed that a lot. In the future I want to get even more creative with my stories, maybe making them longer and more descriptive. I don't rely heavily on my reading notes so I think I am doing a good job being creative on my own with minimal looking back or copying. Like I said in the future, I want to begin writing more in-depth stories now that I have kinda gotten the hang of things and gotten back into writing. I look forward to the rest of the class. I went ahead and added a countdown widget to my blog because I thought it added a touch of personality. I did a countdown till my 21st birthday because it is a day I have been waiting for for so long! Also, it is only 3 days after finals so it is basically a countdown for becoming a senior too! woohoo!!

I really enjoyed learning about this Canvas trick. I had no idea you could look at your totals for each week summarized. I looked at the grade book organized by title. This tip was especially helpful for me for this class since everything is by week. It let me see which weeks I was slacking and also plan ahead for the points I need to get in the future weeks!
